Cauliflower Ch*cken

So easy, and so delicious. We kind of based it off our favourite Deliciously Ella recipe, but adapted it to the stuff we actually have in our cupboards that don’t cost an arm and a leg! You’re welcome!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 CAULI HEAD
  • OLIVE OIL

BATTER:

  • 250ML ANY PLANT MILK
  • 150G OAT FLOUR (OR ANY FLOUR YOU HAVE)
  • A DASH OF SALT

COATING:

  • 150G OAT FLOUR
  • 2 TEASPOONS PAPRIKA
  • A DASH OF SALT

SAUCE:

  • 8 TBS APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
  • 3 TBS MAPLE SYRUP
  • 1 TBS SOY SAUCE
  • 1 TSP CHILLI FLAKES
  • 1 TEASPOON MAZEENA
  • 1 TSP TOMATO SAUCE (CAN USE PUREE IF YOU HAVE SOME LYING AROUND).

METHOD:

  1. PUT THE OVEN ON 200C & GREASE YOUR OVEN TRAY.
  2. PREP YOUR BATTER AND COATING IN TWO SEPARATE BOWLS.
  3. CUT YOUR CAULI INTO FLORETS, & DIP THE CAULI INTO THE BATTER AND THEN ROLL IT IN THE COATING UNTIL FULLY COVERED. AND POP ONTO YOUR TRAY.
  4. ONCE ALL YOUR CAULI IS READY AND ON THE TRAY, POP IN THE OVEN FOR 50 MINUTES. TURNING HALF WAY THROUGH. ABOUT 10 MINUTES BEFORE IT’S COMING OUT – DRIZZLE SOME OLIVE OIL OVER THEM FOR EXTRA CRUNCH!
  5. WHILST IT’S BAKING – PREP YOUR SAUCE.
  6. THE SAUCE IS AS EASY AS ADDING IT ALL TO A SUACE PAN AND COOKING IT OVEN MEDIUM-HIGH HEAT, KEEP STIRRING UNTIL YOU GET THE STICKY CONSISTENCY.
  7. AND THAT’S A WRAP – NOW YOU HAVE THE BEST CAULI WINGS ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!
